Rebound: The Odyssey of Michael Jordan - Bob Greene

Image
This is the first book I've read in awhile. Bob Green talks of the life of Michael Jordan, who is considered the greatest player of all time when it comes to basketball. He is also one of my favorite athletes. However, the book focuses more on Michael's life outside basketball, starting off by mentioning how his father was murdered. The trials Jordan had to face were written in this book. Jordan temporarily retired his NBA career, and followed his Dad's dream of him becoming a Major League Baseball player. Balsa Bridge Building Competition 2013

Image
As a grade 11 physics student at Notre Dame, I am required to build a bridge made entirely out of balsa wood with a minimum span of 40cm, height of 5cm, maximum weight of 100g, and other numerous restrictions. The competition is to sustain the most weight pulling down on the bridge. My partner, Niko, and I hope that our bridge does well and beats the precious record of sustaining 220kg.

I also read very very slow and barely understood what I was reading. Compared to the other kids, I felt like I wasn't going anywhere. Then my mom put me in a reading program at school. It really helped me and got me to enjoy reading. The instructors would read along with us and make sure we're all on the right track as to where the stories were going. It even made me read on my spare time!        When I hit about grade 3, we were required to write reading logs for every time we read. As my reading capabilities increased, so did the level of books I was reading. I was awarded and recognized for my outstan...
