2025
I only wrote one other time in my blog this year. But it was an eventful year.
Let's see if I can recall the major events from this year:
- My work team and I jumped in at Cap and managed the PACWEST Basketball Provincial Championship
- VIMA got baptized
- VIMA and I went skydiving & I proposed to VIMA (on the same day!, she said yes hehe.)
- I started woodworking and made various projects
- I created the Langara Chess League and introduced Chess as one of our department's Campus Recreation Activities
- We went on 3 trips this year.
- Banff, Canmore, Calgary in May
- Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta in July
- Calgary in October
- I tied for 1st in a Chess tournament in August
- I successfully linked our department with the RMT and Photography Departments
- I went back to my natural, straight hair
- I am the strongest that I have ever been
- being able to lift 315 lbs Deadlifts for reps, 315lbs Squat One Rep Max, ~230lbs Bench Press One Rep Max
- VIMA is officially Canadian
- The Blue Jays were one game away from winning the World Series
I'm probably missing some things, but this is what I can remember at the moment. I will really try to write more frequently in this blog in the upcoming year. It's just a matter of sitting down and dedicating time to do so. I have several unpublished drafts because I almost "demand" myself to only post elaborate posts since I don't post too frequently. I've also been trying to alternate between writing in English and in Spanish.
A week ago, we had Christmas at my uncle/aunt's house. It was a little sad as my cousin and his wife were sick, so they didn't end up going. But we are glad that we ended up going despites coming off of a nasty cold. We wore masks and we still had a good time. I think next year we will likely be in Mexico for Christmas.
A few days ago, I turned 29. Ever since I was a child, I've always tried to make the most out of my birthdays. Perhaps next year when I turn 30, I will post about all my birthdays that I remember.
In a few days, I will be participating in my first classical chess tournament that will be 3 days long. I will play two games a day. Let's see how it goes - I am excited!
Until next time! See you next year.
